Bloodless RF Micro-needling as a stand alone procedure is a great choice to reduce the appearance of fine lines, abnormal pigmentation, acne and other scarring, stretch marks, large pores and improve skin texture on the face, hands, neck and chest. Adding optimally prepared concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) will provide boost of collagen-stimulating growth factors to your procedure, which will drastically influence the health of your skin, creating a more youthful appearance. You don't need to do PRP with every single micro-needling session, but adding it to your first series of treatments and a maintenance treatment once per year or so will greatly increase the results that you will see in your skin texture and tone.

Platelet-rich plasma has been utilized for years in wound healing and orthopedic conditions, but more recently it has gained traction in esthetic medicine, especially with respect to hair loss. Several clinicians have had some success in treating alopecia of various etiologies (lichen plano pilaris, alopecia areata, etc), but most of the limited data have been focused on PRP use for male/ female-pattern hair loss.

The mechanism of action involves platelets’ ability to aggregate together, activate, and release alpha-granules containing various growth factors, such as platelet derived growth factor, transforming growth factor beta, vascular endothelial growth factor, epidermal growth factor, fibroblast growth factor, and insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). This release increases new blood vessel growth and vascularization, providing resting 'telogen' hairs the signal that they need to enter the growth phase. This increased vascularization and mix of growth factors also fosters the proliferation of dermal papilla cells and inhibits apoptosis, helping to prolong the anagen phase. More specific to androgenetic alopecia, PRP may help to counteract certain effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT).  In a mouse model of androgenetic alopecia, DHT was shown to block IGF-1 contributing to hair loss and PRP is a known source of IGF-1.  

PRP with  the Legend Plus RF micro=needling provides a pain free bloodless “natural” treatment with minimal to no side effects and no down time.There is no standard system, quantity, or interval of treatment regarding PRP for hair loss. After much research we use a proprietary concentrated platelet rich plasma and do three to four treatments  every four to six weeks, then reevaluate after 8 to 12 months. If a patient has a response, then follow-up re-treatment may result in continued efficacy if performed every 6- to 12-months.
